Daniel Gunstveit

My name is Daniel and I have extensive experience as a psychologist in various parts of the specialist healthcare service and private practice. I have completed a three-year further education in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), and will soon be a specialist psychologist with specialization in psychotherapy. Emotions naturally often have a large place in my therapy room, and I have special expertise in helping you who struggle with both too little and too much emotion - in relationships and in life in general. Maybe you have some bad experiences behind you that you can't let go of, even if it's been a long time. It may be that you have developed some strategies for dealing with emotions that have been helpful to you, but are now creating some difficulties for you. It may also be that you don't quite know what is wrong in your life, but still feel that something is not right. Regardless of what you are struggling with, I am concerned with creating a focus for the course of therapy that makes sense for you at all times.

I have previously worked a lot with self-criticism, difficult relationships, self-care, depressive symptoms, anxiety, various types of addiction problems (including gambling addiction) and various issues related to the body and self-esteem. I am also concerned with existential issues, mindful presence (mindfulness) and common life problems that can arise in the various phases of life, in addition to difficulties linked to creativity (for example, writing block or procrastination).

In addition to my therapist background, I am a dedicated professional mediator, including through a part-time position in the Journal of the Norwegian Psychological Association, where I also review specialist books. I have free hours in the evening until 1 September, after this also during the day.
