People contact a psychologist for very different reasons and with different starting points. Maybe you are feeling inner turmoil or struggling with something you don't quite understand? Or maybe you are struggling with your relationship with yourself or others? Or maybe you have a feeling of being "a bit stuck" in life?
In conversation with you, I will try to get to know you better, approach what feels difficult and painful, and help us to understand this better together.
I have experience in treating, among other things, anxiety, depression, eating disorders, burnout, life crises, grief, stress, trauma and violence issues, and have a particular interest in difficulties related to self-esteem and self-criticism, and interpersonal issues such as difficulties in relationships or other relationships.
I work primarily with a therapy called Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT). This approach focuses on helping people get in touch with and process difficult, unclear, and conflicted emotions – not just to reduce symptoms, but to create deeper emotional change and increased self-understanding.
This also involves exploring what can arise from feelings and experiences in the moment. Many people find that they come more in touch with themselves and their own feelings, and that these processes make it easier to relate to themselves and others.
I always strive to meet you with warmth, openness and acceptance of who you are, and create a safe space where you can share what you may find difficult to show others.
No matter what your goals and desires for your life are, I hope that through conversations with me you will be able to feel that you may become a little safer, stand a little more firmly in yourself and can move closer to what you really want and need in your life.
