I believe that people have an inherent capacity for change, and that it is important to find the balance between safety and challenge to create this change. I have learned that insight alone is not enough for change to occur, and therefore I am concerned with bringing the bodily experience of emotions, anxiety and pain into the room. I am a supporter of active collaboration in the therapy room, whether it concerns issues related to depression, anxiety, substance abuse, pain, trauma, exhaustion, addiction or in the relational.

I have several years of experience helping couples who want to strengthen, change or clarify their relationship. For some couples, I find it helpful to keep the individual and relational perspectives in parallel, then we tailor the process so that you can work on both your relationship with yourself and your partner. This is especially true for couples where both or one of the parties has some form of psychological struggle, but can also be relevant if you are experiencing difficulties around intimacy, jealousy, betrayal, substance abuse, sexuality and conflict.

I have completed both levels of education in the trauma processing method EMDR. I use EMDR flexibly and can offer pure EMDR courses, but also as a link into couples therapy and individual therapy. I find EMDR to be a useful tool when you experience being stuck in inappropriate patterns, or are unable to leave old experiences or emotions behind. I have experience using EMDR on, among other things, substance-related challenges, pain and trauma. I also have further education in Pain Reprocessing Therapy (PRT), which is a psychotherapeutic treatment for chronic pain.
