Anna has extensive experience working with adults and adolescents in specialist health services, and has special expertise in body-oriented trauma treatment. She works particularly with disorders that can arise after stressful or traumatic experiences, such as anxiety, depression, dissociation and difficulties with emotion regulation. She will offer group therapy starting in the fall of 2026.

I have extensive experience working with adults and adolescents who are struggling with mental health challenges. In therapy, I take I start from the individual's needs and emphasize creating a safe meeting characterized by warmth, presence and acceptance.

My experience includes treating depression, burnout, anxiety disorders, complex trauma, PTSD, ADHD, autism and pain conditions. My specialization is particularly the treatment of conditions such as stems from overwhelming life experiences, such as developmental trauma and shock trauma.

Developmental trauma most often arise early in life, and in relationships with caregivers. They are not just about what we have experienced, but also about what we have lacked – such as security, connection and affirmation.

Shock trauma occurs when an event overwhelms the body's ability to handle stress. The nervous system can then become locked in the fight-or-flight response. This can lead to symptoms such as anxiety, panic attacks, sleep problems, dissociation, and emotional avoidance.

An important reason why such symptoms persist is avoidance of the body's reactions. Therefore, attention to the body is a central part of my treatment.

Together we explore the body's reactions with mindfulness and acceptance. In this way we can support the inherent ability to find a return to balance. By processing painful experiences, we can gradually transform our wounds into sources of insight, meaning and strength.

I work primarily with body-oriented methods such as Deep Brain Reorienting (DBR), NeuroAffective Relational Model (NARM) and Somatic Experiencing (SE). I integrate these with psychodynamic, cognitive and mindfulness-based approaches.

At Psykologvirke we also offer medication-assisted treatment in collaboration with the Axonklinikken in Oslo.

This form of treatment can be useful for depression, anxiety and trauma, among other things. I also use Psychedelic Somatic Interactional Psychotherapy (PSIP).

This is a method that supports medication-assisted treatment well, while being adaptable to other mental challenges. As a therapist, I have drawn much inspiration from over 25 years of immersion in meditation and various spiritual traditions. My desire is to create a space to get in deeper contact with the body, emotions and what gives life direction.

From autumn 2026 I will offer group therapy in a permanent process group. In a time characterized by loneliness and inequality I believe we need community more than ever. Many of our deepest wounds arise in relationships – and therefore relationships can be an important source of healing. Group therapy provides an opportunity to be met by others, experience belonging, and explore new ways of being in touch.

I offer conversations physically and digitally, in Norwegian/Swedish and English.
