Many people I meet are people who others see as resourceful, but who themselves are struggling with stress and inner turmoil. Maybe you recognize yourself in thinking that something in life doesn't feel right? Many people come to therapy when they need help finding their way forward.

My goal is not only to create understanding of the problems, but also to find out what it takes to get better. When you come to the first lesson, we therefore first spend time understanding where you stand. Then we find a clear direction for the work ahead and which steps can help you get better. Already after the first lesson, you should experience that the path forward feels clearer.

While we will work purposefully, it is important to me that you feel safe and have the space to take things at your own pace. The conversations should not be a place where you have to perform, but a place where you can gradually understand yourself better. If strong emotions come up, I will help you face them in a way that makes them easier to handle.

Although everyone needs help from time to time, seeking help from a psychologist can feel like a defeat. It's easy to ask yourself, "Why can't I do this on my own?"«
Then it might be good to remember that it is entirely human to need support when life becomes difficult or confusing. Asking for help when something has become too heavy to carry alone is not a sign of weakness, but a sign that you know when you need support to move forward.

Many people eventually find that problems are not just about symptoms that need to go away, but also about signals about what changes are needed to get better. Often, actual development only begins when you stop withdrawing from what is difficult, and instead begin to face it in a new way.

I am a psychologist at the University of Bergen and have further education from the Norwegian Institute of Character Analysis, where I also sat on the education committee. I have clinical experience from, among others, DPS, family welfare offices and private practice, and have worked with individuals, couples, families, children and groups.

In addition, I teach and supervise psychologists and other healthcare personnel, and have developed courses in areas such as social anxiety, mental training and psychological development.
