Hilde is the founder and CEO of Psykologvirke. In addition to being a psychology specialist, she has 5 years of further education in Intensive Short-Term Dynamic Psychotherapy (ISTDP). She works primarily with adults.

I am a psychology specialist and founder of Psykologvirke, with almost 20 years of experience from the specialist health service (DPS) and private practice.

Through many years as a therapist, I have met people in very different life situations and with various forms of psychological stress. Many who come to therapy struggle with anxiety, restlessness, self-criticism, relationship difficulties, emotional stress or stuck patterns that have developed over time. Others feel overwhelmed, empty, insecure or far from their own needs and feelings.

I also have extensive experience helping parents who struggle with parenting. For many, parenthood can bring up strong emotions, insecurities, inadequacies, or old patterns that they don't fully understand. In therapy, we work to create greater understanding, security, and freedom, both in dealing with themselves and their children.

In therapy, I am committed to meeting people as whole people. For me, therapy is not only about symptom relief, but also about personal development, greater self-understanding and more security in relationships and one's own choices. I want to create a safe, honest and clear space where it is possible to explore what has become difficult, and find new ways to meet oneself and life.

I am also concerned that the therapy process itself should be experienced as meaningful, regulating and inspiring along the way. Therapy is not just about working with what is difficult, but also about experiencing more contact, security, vitality and movement within oneself through the process.

Professionally, I am particularly immersed in Intensive Short-Term Dynamic Psychotherapy (ISTDP), and have six years of further education in the therapy. ISTDP is an active and in-depth form of therapy that works with emotional patterns and defenses that can contribute to psychological distress and stuck relationships. The further education has included internationally recognized professionals such as Dr. Patricia Coughlin and Jonathan Entis.

I also have further education in ketamine-assisted treatment, and am interested in professional development, personal development, and newer forms of treatment within mental health.

In addition to clinical work, I lead Psykologvirke, where we are committed to combining high professionalism with humanity, warmth and continuous development, both for our therapists and the people who seek help from us.
